550K Restoration

Here will go the final build picture of the motorcycle.  In the meantime, this will have to do as a starting point:

I bought this 1977 Honda 550K motorcycle as a basket-case on an Ebay auction.  The owner had never seen it run, and it was in bad, rusty condition.  The transmission felt good, and it kicked over with good compression, but the carbs were obviously in need of rebuilding, and someone had put "shorty" bars on with a cafe racer faring.  It also had ugly 4-into-1 black headers, and the wrong seat.  Overall, it was in sad shape, but I got it cheap.

The first step involved tearing it completely down to the frame, and the frame was taken in to be powder-coated while I tore into the engine.

Clicking on the picture will take you to the steps I took to break down the motorcycle.
